Our name is a deliberate provocation. The materials we work with have been cast out – 'exiled' – from the systems that created them, or overlooked entirely.
We follow these materials, whether recovered and reclaimed waste, natural fibres, or the output of hands and techniques industries stopped paying attention to. Wherever they come from, whatever they have survived and however long they have waited.
Then, through exceptional craftsmanship – by the hands of our own team and a trusted circle of artisans – these forgotten materials become the unforgettable, in the form of fashion, accessories and homeware.
Our Artisans
Exiled’s creative hearth is our design studio and factory, based in Hull, East Yorkshire. Here, our team of experienced designers, fashion specialists and master machinists design and transform reclaimed and raw materials into rare, desirable pieces, committed to precision and artistry. From first sketch to final stitch, they are the custodians of our craft.
Craftmanship knows no borders. That’s why Exiled extends beyond Hull’s walls into the world, where we collaborate with a trusted network of artisans – all masters in their fields, chosen for their unique skills and integrity. Whether it’s a specialist working with rescued leather or a traditional weaver turning reclaimed fibres into new cloth, we go where the material requires.
Built on ethics and mutual respect, our partnerships are also shaped by a belief in celebrating or revitalising traditional skills and techniques, supporting and empowering communities in the process.
Exiled is the antithesis of fast fashion. We believe scarcity is the ultimate statement, while desirability is defined by the rare and exceptional. We choose provenance over pretence.
Those who own Exiled own something that will never exist in the same way again. We do not mass produce, we craft. Our collections are limited, not artificially but by the ever-changing materials that inspire them. We work only with what is available, for as long as it takes, and are always led by the skilled hands and minds that bring our creations to life.
